Responsibility Is Greater Than Position, and Dedication Greater Than Authority: Prashant Agrawal

‘Apno Se Apni Baat’ programme shares messages of service and forgiveness through Ramayana episodes; Diwali celebrated with children

Udaipur, November 3, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran): Narayan Seva Sansthan President Prashant Agrawal shared messages of service, sacrifice, dedication and forgiveness through various episodes from the Ramayana during the ‘Apno Se Apni Baat’ programme held at the World of Humanity, Sevatirth.

Agrawal said the Ramayana is not merely a religious text or a story, but a source of inspiration that guides people towards the right path in life. Each episode contains lessons in human values and ideals.

Ramayana Episodes Highlight Service and Sacrifice

Agrawal spoke about Bharat’s sacrifice, Shatrughna’s selfless service, the assistance provided by Trijata and Sarma in Ashok Vatika, the warmth shown by Nishadraj Guha and Maharishi Bharadwaj, the dedication of minister Sumantra, and Lord Shri Ram’s forgiveness towards Mata Kaikeyi.

Recalling Bharat’s example, Agrawal said that after Shri Ram went into exile, Bharat refused to accept the throne. Instead, he placed Shri Ram’s sandals on the throne and fulfilled the responsibilities of the kingdom in the spirit of a volunteer.

Bharat stayed in Nandigram for 14 years, setting an extraordinary example of sacrifice and unwavering love for his brother. The episode teaches that responsibility is greater than position and dedication is greater than authority.

Shatrughna’s Life Exemplified Selfless Service

Through Shatrughna’s life, Agrawal explained that he always stood by Bharat and carried out his duties without seeking a position or recognition.

On the instructions of Lord Shri Ram, Shatrughna killed Lavanasura and freed the sages from fear. He also established Madhupuri, which later came to be known as Mathura.

His life teaches that true service means giving priority to one’s duty without expecting credit, Agrawal said.

He also highlighted the importance of cooperation, affection and forgiveness through other episodes from the Ramayana. The epic, he said, inspires people to preserve the dignity of relationships, remain sensitive towards others and stay committed to their values even in difficult circumstances.

Diwali Celebrated with Children

Alongside the programme, Diwali was celebrated with enthusiasm with children from the institution’s residential school and Narayan Children Academy.

Crackers and sweets were distributed among the children, who shared the festive joy with excitement. The celebration also reflected the message of service, belonging and sharing happiness.
