Sawai Madhopur, 19 November (Udaipur Kiran). Panic spread for a brief period on Wednesday in Ranthambore when a tiger suddenly appeared on the Trinetra Ganesh Temple road. A large number of devotees were present for darshan, and the tiger walked directly onto the road from Zone 1. For around 15 minutes, it moved between vehicles, causing traffic to come to a complete halt. On seeing the tiger, people on both sides stopped their vehicles and maintained distance. Some drivers even reversed their vehicles the moment they saw any movement towards them.

Forest Ranger Yogesh Kumar Sharma said that devotees were frightened seeing the tiger so close, and silence prevailed at the spot. The tiger was seen walking in the middle of the road and also approaching vehicles. Many people recorded the moment from a safe distance. The Forest Department team reached the location soon after being informed. After roaming around for some time, the tiger returned to the forest and traffic flow resumed.
According to Sharma, the tiger spotted on the temple road is the male cub of tigress Sultana. The department has started monitoring its movement. He added that this is the same route where about seven months ago, a tiger attack led to the death of a seven-year-old child and a ranger. The road was temporarily closed after that incident.
