Hyderabad, March 11 : Telangana Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy on Friday informed the Assembly that the state government will not allow the privatisation of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) by the Central government. Replying to questions raised by the members in the house during the question hour, Reddy said that the state government has taken up several initiatives to protect the interest of the employees of the SCCL. The Minister said, the State and Central Governments have 51 and 49 per cent shares in SCCL respectively. In the name of privatization, the Centre has attempted to privatise four mines including Sathupalli Block-III, Koyaguda Block-III, Sravanpally in SCCL. Protesting it, the Chief Minister had written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and concerned the Minister in this regard, he said, adding that the employees of SCCL also held agitation for three days recently protesting against privatization of four mines. Earlier, the members urged the government to pass a unanimous resolution in the house against the privatisation of SCCL. VV CS1623
