New Delhi, September 28 (Udaipur Kiran News): Delhi Police have arrested Swami Chaitanyanand Saraswati, also known as Parth Sarathi, from a hotel in Agra late Saturday night. He faces allegations of sexually harassing female students enrolled in the PGDM course under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) scholarship scheme.
According to DCP (South-West District) Amit Goyal, the police team arrested the accused from Agra and is bringing him to Delhi. He will be produced before the court later today.
Accused Linked to Sexual Harassment Allegations
Swami Chaitanyanand Saraswati, the director of a branch of an ashram located in Vasant Kunj, Delhi, is accused of sexually harassing students. Following complaints from more than 15 female students, a case was registered against him for molestation and sexual harassment.
The complaint was initially filed on August 4 at Vasant Kunj North Police Station by an administrator of the institute. It alleged that the accused exploited students pursuing PGDM courses under the EWS scholarship scheme.
Police Action and Investigation Details
During the investigation, the police recorded statements from 32 students, out of which 17 alleged that the accused used abusive language, sent obscene WhatsApp and SMS messages, and made unwanted physical contact.
Some students also claimed that female faculty members and administrators working at the institution pressured and coerced them to comply with the accused’s demands.
Police have also taken financial action by freezing 18 bank accounts and 28 fixed deposit accounts linked to the Swami’s trust, holding around ₹8 crore. His debit and credit cards have also been blocked.
