Udaipur (Udaipur Kiran). The Faculty of Management at Pacific University organised an inter-college drama competition titled “Stories on Stage”, where students from 10 colleges across the Udaipur division showcased their acting skills and creativity. The event, conducted under the banner of the university’s Cultural Club, provided a vibrant platform for students to express themselves through theatrical performances.
The programme began with Saraswati Vandana and was held under the chairmanship of Professor Dipin Mathur, Dean, Faculty of Management. Pacific University President Professor Hemant Kothari also addressed the students and blessed them with his encouraging words. Professor Mathur highlighted that drama is one of the best mediums to develop creativity, communication skills, presentation ability and practical learning such as team-building and coordination.
Teams presented short plays on diverse themes including rising social evils among youth, patriotism, drug de-addiction, women empowerment and social encounters. The event allowed students to express their perspectives on socially relevant issues.
The competition was judged by theatre actress and visual artist Charul Choyle, and workshop director from the Children’s Theatre Project, Ministry of Culture (WZCC). The guests appreciated the performances and emphasised the importance of theatre in shaping life skills.
Dr. Pallavi Mehta, coordinator of the Drama Club, extended a vote of thanks and announced the winners. The team from Pacific Institute of Management emerged as the overall winner. Ashish Suthar won Best Actor, while Almas Bano was awarded Best Actress. Dr. Mehta concluded the event by congratulating all participants and wishing them a bright future.
