SP MP Criticizes Delhi Minister for Slapping Incident

New Delhi, September 28 (Udaipur Kiran) : Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Jiya Ur Rehman Bark has expressed deep concern over the recent incident involving Delhi Minister Pravesh Verma, who allegedly slapped a young man. Bark described the act as particularly disgraceful for someone holding a constitutional position. He emphasized that such behavior is not just an insult to the individual but also to all voters who supported the political party in power.

In a conversation with a news agency, Bark called for Verma’s dismissal and demanded action regarding the incident, stating that it reflects poorly on the democratic values of the nation. He further commented on the ongoing political blame game between the opposition and the ruling party regarding the Election Commission, stressing the importance of public trust in such constitutional bodies.

Bark raised questions about the decision-making process within the Election Commission and the role of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, suggesting a review of previous decisions. He even called for Kumar’s resignation on moral grounds, citing statements from a former bureaucrat, although the other party involved has not publicly responded to these allegations.

On the topic of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘zero tolerance’ policy, Bark argued that the government should also heed the voices of the opposition and the public. He stated that terrorism should not be linked to any one religion and called for action against all forms of terrorism and Naxalism.

Regarding the alliance between Congress and the Samajwadi Party for upcoming elections in Uttar Pradesh, Bark indicated that discussions are ongoing, but final decisions on seats and candidates are yet to be made. He urged the leaders and workers of the alliance to refrain from public statements to avoid confusion over internal disagreements.
