In their opening match, South Africa defeated Canada by 57 runs, followed by a thrilling win against Afghanistan in the second Super Over. Currently, South Africa tops the Group D points table, while New Zealand holds the second position with two wins out of three matches.
Batting first after losing the toss at the Narendra Modi Stadium, New Zealand scored 175 runs, losing 7 wickets. The opening pair of Tim Seifert and Finn Allen provided a steady start, adding 33 runs in 3.2 overs. Seifert was dismissed for 13 runs off 9 balls, hitting 2 boundaries, after which Rachin Ravindra partnered with Finn Allen to add 24 runs for the second wicket, bringing the score to 57.
