Patna, August 25: Bihar’s Minister Shravan Kumar addressed various issues during a press conference on Tuesday, assuring students that their demands are being considered. He emphasized that the state government is committed to ensuring justice in accordance with the rules and urged students to trust the government. “Bihar is the only state in the country where the highest number of government jobs have been provided. Our government has taken steps in the employment sector and will continue to do so. Overall, my message to students is to be patient; their concerns will be heard,” he stated.
Additionally, he criticized the Maharashtra government’s requirement for UP-Bihar taxi drivers to learn Marathi, calling it inappropriate. “Our country has a federal structure, which grants individuals the right to seek employment in any state. Forcing someone to learn the local language in such a situation is wrong. The Maharashtra government should take strict action against those imposing such requirements,” he added.
Regarding the state’s township scheme, Kumar mentioned that steps to implement it would be taken only after consulting with farmers. “The government will advance the project after gaining the trust of farmers. Our ministers have also communicated this information to the public through newspapers,” he said.
Janata Dal United spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan described the recent dialogue between Ajit Doval and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi as positive, expressing hope that it would resolve disputes between the two countries. He noted the historical ties between India and China, particularly concerning borders and trade.
On the rising prices of sugar, Ranjan stated that the situation is temporary and will normalize soon. He explained that the current surge in prices is due to reduced sugar production and the upcoming festive season, similar to past trends seen with onion prices.
Ranjan also reacted to the BJP’s announcement to contest all seats in the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections, stating that public sentiment is against the Aam Aadmi Party and that the Congress party is fragmented. He believes that if the BJP forms the government in Punjab, it will address many issues, as having the same party in power at both the center and state will help curb crime and drug trafficking.
He expressed confusion over the reasons behind the student protests led by opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav, noting that over 32,000 vacancies for Tier 3 positions have been announced, with two exams scheduled. He urged students to focus on their exam preparations rather than protesting.
Lastly, Kumar highlighted the unexpected growth in digital transactions, stating that discussions are ongoing with other countries to expand the UPI network. He also praised Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay for fulfilling his promises to the public, wishing him well in his endeavors.
