Tehran, August 25: Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Ismail Baghaei, stated on Monday that the country will not allow the war to end based on the terms set by the aggressor parties. During a weekly press conference in Tehran, Baghaei emphasized, “We are certainly not the party that initiated the war, but we will not let it conclude on the aggressors’ conditions.”
He asserted Iran’s firm commitment to defending its territory and stated that the country will not compromise with aggressors or yield to their excessive demands. The Iranian Foreign Minister dismissed claims from the United States that the Strait of Hormuz is open and that millions of barrels of oil pass through daily, labeling it as part of a psychological and media war.
According to Xinhua, Baghaei also criticized Washington’s newly announced anti-Iran economic operations, asserting that Tehran will utilize all multilateral capabilities to counter the U.S. sanctions, which he described as an attack on free trade and national sovereignty.
The spokesperson warned that countries assisting U.S. anti-Iran campaigns may face consequences. He characterized the U.S. naval blockade as an aggressive action. Western media reports suggest that if the war resumes, Iran may target U.S. bases in Europe. In response, Baghaei stated that if any country allows its territory, military bases, or resources to be used for aggressive actions against Iran, the country has every right to retaliate against the source of that attack.
