Udaipur: A ‘Yuva Samvad’ programme on the theme “Yuva Shakti – Role of Youth in Nation Building” was organised at the Pacific Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Umarda, under Sai Tirupati University. The programme focused on making young people aware of their role in nation building, social responsibility, leadership and positive participation as citizens.
The programme began with the lighting of the lamp and offering flowers at the feet of Bharat Mata, followed by the singing of Vande Mataram. The guests were introduced and welcomed in the traditional way by presenting them with turbans. Dr Dilip Parekh delivered the welcome address.
Vice Chancellor of Sai Tirupati University Dr Prashant Nahar, PIMS Principal and Controller Dr Suresh Chandra Goyal and Medical Director Dr Kamlesh Shekhawat were present at the programme.
Addressing young doctors and students, Dr Prashant Nahar called upon the youth to contribute to nation building and the welfare of society. He also appreciated the efforts of the National Medical Organisation to connect young doctors with national interest and nation building.
During the Yuva Samvad session, gastro surgeon Dr K.K. Bishnoi, Dr Yogesh Singhal, Dr Vaibhav Chittora and Dr Jaideep Thakor shared their views. They spoke about the responsibilities of young people, their duties towards society and the importance of their active participation in the development of the country.
Focus on ‘Panch Parivartan’
The main speaker, Dr Dharmendra Singh, Sah Prant Pracharak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (Chittorgarh Prant), spoke about the Sangh’s ‘Panch Parivartan’ — environmental protection, civic manners, family awareness, awareness of self and social harmony.
He urged young people to come out of the virtual world and move from “reel to real” life. He called upon them to fulfil their responsibilities towards society, family and the environment. He said the energy, talent, discipline and positive thinking of the youth can make an important contribution to the progress of the country.
Students also got an opportunity to share their views and ask questions during the programme. In the question-and-answer session, they discussed different aspects of the topic with the speakers.
Dr Ajay Chaudhary from the faculty also shared his thoughts and experiences. He said the role of youth should not be limited to becoming future leaders, but they should also play an active role as responsible citizens today.
The students were encouraged to contribute to nation building through social service, environmental protection, democratic participation, awareness and positive leadership.
The programme concluded with the national anthem. Dr Ajay Chaudhary proposed the vote of thanks, while Dr Yamini Sabharwal and Dr Sonali Kukreja conducted and anchored the programme.
