New Delhi, October 3 (Udaipur Kiran News): The wife of Ladakh activist Sonam Wangchuk, Geetanjali J Angmo, has moved the Supreme Court challenging his arrest under the National Security Act (NSA). Wangchuk, who was detained on September 26, is currently lodged in Jodhpur jail in Rajasthan.

The petition, filed through advocate Sarvam Reetam Khare, has sought Wangchuk’s immediate release and questioned the legality of his arrest. Geetanjali has also expressed concern that even after a week of his detention, she has not received any information about his health condition.
Wangchuk had been leading demonstrations demanding full statehood for Ladakh. The protests had turned violent, and police firing during the unrest reportedly led to the deaths of four people.
