Health Department Issues Heat Preparedness Directives
In light of the seasonal change, the State Health Department has instructed all district health officers to ensure adequate arrangements to protect patients from heat. The directives include:
-
Installation and maintenance of coolers, fans, and air conditioning in OPD and IPD areas
-
Availability of safe drinking water
-
Ensuring adequate stock of essential medicines and injections for treating viral infections, heatstroke, and gastrointestinal issues
-
Maintaining a proper cold-chain system for temperature-sensitive drugs
Proactive Steps for Patient Safety in Summer
The move reflects the government’s proactive approach to safeguard public health during extreme weather. With Rajasthan already witnessing rising daytime temperatures, early OPD hours are expected to minimize heat exposure for patients and hospital staff alike.
Health authorities have been urged to monitor facilities regularly to avoid disruptions and maintain a comfortable healthcare environment for all visitors.
