Punjab Government Announces Major Administrative Transfers of IAS and PCS Officers

Chandigarh: The Punjab Government has undertaken a significant administrative reshuffle, transferring and appointing several IAS and PCS officers to new positions. Official orders have been issued, directing all concerned officers to assume their new assignments immediately.

According to the government order, IAS officer Akshita Gupta of the 2021 batch, previously serving as Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation, Phagwara, has been appointed as Director of the Information and Public Relations Department. She will replace IAS officer Vimal Kumar Setia in this role.

Similarly, PCS officer Navneet Kaur Bal of the 2020 batch, currently Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) in Kapurthala, has been given additional responsibility. While retaining her post as Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) in Kapurthala, she has also been assigned the additional charge of Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation, Phagwara, succeeding Akshita Gupta.

Additionally, PCS officer Deepankar Garg, also of the 2020 batch, presently serving as Under Secretary in the General Administration and Coordination Department and as Additional Managing Director of Punjab Agro Industries Corporation Limited, will now manage the additional responsibility of Under Secretary in the Information and Public Relations Department alongside his existing roles.

The order further clarifies that IAS officer Vimal Kumar Setia, batch of 2010, has been relieved from his current post and instructed to report to the Personnel Secretary for further orders.

The Punjab Government has directed all concerned officers to immediately commence their duties at the new postings. According to administrative sources, this reshuffle aims to enhance the efficiency and smooth functioning of administrative work in the state.
