Jaipur, February 11 : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has issued a show-cause notice to Cabinet Minister Dr. Kirori Lal Meena over allegations related to phone tapping and espionage. BJP state president Madan Rathore has asked Meena to respond within three days, citing anti-party activities and indiscipline.
The controversy erupted after Meena publicly accused his own government of tapping his phone and conducting surveillance on him. Speaking at an event at Jaipur’s Aamagarh Temple, he alleged, “I am being spied on, my phone is being tapped.” His statements sent shockwaves across Rajasthan’s political landscape, prompting a heated debate in the state assembly. The opposition seized the opportunity to corner the government, demanding an explanation from the Chief Minister and staging protests inside the house.

The notice stated, “You made public remarks accusing the BJP-led government of tapping your phone, which are untrue. By making such statements, you have tarnished the image of the party and its majority government. Your actions amount to a breach of party discipline as per the BJP constitution.”
Furthermore, the notice highlighted that the BJP’s national president has viewed Meena’s remarks as a serious violation of party discipline, warranting an immediate explanation. The party has warned that if Meena fails to respond within three days, it will be assumed that he has no justification for his allegations.

But when I demanded the cancellation of certain exams, the government ignored my request. Instead, CID was deployed against me, and my phone tapping began.”
