Udaipur : The panther safari in Jaisamand was resumed on Sunday after the monsoon season ended. Only six tourists visited the safari on the first day after the monsoon season. A special track has been built in the Jaisamand Wildlife Sanctuary for the safari. Four jeeps have also been arranged.
According to experts, the number of tourists for the safari is expected to increase from November. The tourist season in Udaipur is in full swing from November to February. During this time, a large number of people visit Jaisamand. The tourists who visited the safari on the first day were from Gujarat and seemed quite excited.
The tourists said that they saw various types of wildlife, including deer and chital. Range Officer Gautam Lal Meena said that the safari was stopped due to rain from July 1. Now, wildlife lovers can enjoy the panther safari from 6 am to 9 am and 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm. The ticket price for the safari is Rs 649 for Indian nationals and Rs 1038 for foreign tourists. The fee for students is Rs 565. It is worth mentioning that the panther safari was started in Jaisamand on May 22 this year.
Two Special Tracks Built for Safari
The forest department has built two special tracks, 22 km and 14 km long, respectively, for the panther safari in the sanctuary. During the safari, tourists can experience the thrill of wildlife for an hour. The sanctuary is home to a large number of panthers, chital, sambar, deer, and nilgai. Dozens of species of migratory and non-migratory birds can also be seen here. A viewing point has been built near the main reservoir of the sanctuary, which offers a panoramic view of Jaisamand Lake.
