Raebareli, September 19 (Udaipur Kiran) : Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav is set to visit Raebareli on September 24. During his visit, he will have tea at the residence of party MLA Rahul Lodhi, where political discussions are expected to take place. It is anticipated that Yadav will arrive in Raebareli in the party’s newly launched election campaign vehicle.
This visit follows a recent dispute between MLA Rahul Lodhi and police in Raebareli. The confrontation stemmed from a membership campaign on September 17 at Firoz Gandhi Degree College, which saw heated exchanges and physical altercations between workers of the Samajwadi Student Assembly and Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad. Police were called to the scene to restore order.
In response to the incident, Samajwadi Party student assembly members, along with MLA Lodhi, protested at the SP office, alleging police brutality during the dispersal of demonstrators. They claimed that Lodhi faced physical aggression during the altercation.
Yadav’s announcement of his visit has stirred political discussions, as it is perceived as an effort to connect with the Lodhi community, which holds significant electoral weight in Uttar Pradesh, with a voter base exceeding one million. His visit to Lodhi’s home is viewed as a strategic move by the Samajwadi Party to convey a political message in light of recent events.
