New Delhi, February 11: The Pakistan cricket team has secured victories against the Netherlands and the USA in the group stage of the T20 World Cup 2026. Their next match is scheduled against India on February 15 in Colombo. Matches between India and Pakistan often come with added pressure for the players, but Pakistan’s opener Sahibzada Farhan has dismissed any notion of pressure.
Following the win against the USA, Farhan stated, “Winning two consecutive matches boosts your confidence. The upcoming match is not a big deal; we are not playing against them for the first time. We have played before, and this time we will approach the game with a different mindset.”
He added, “You have seen us struggle in difficult situations before, but now Shadab and Nawaz are scoring runs. So, we hope our match against them will be exciting, and you all will enjoy it.”
In recent years, matches between India and Pakistan have often been one-sided, with India securing easy victories. When asked about this, Farhan remarked that he believes their match during the Asia Cup was not one-sided. “We played and fought until the end. We hope to showcase a great performance this time,” he said.
Farhan emphasized, “I think scoring runs boosts your confidence. My confidence has also increased after the last two innings. We will treat the match against India like a normal game and are ready to play calmly on Sunday.”
Sahibzada Farhan has strengthened Pakistan’s opening batting, scoring 47 runs off 31 balls in the first match against the Netherlands and earning the Player of the Match award with a score of 73 runs off 41 balls against the USA.
