Poonch, June 28: Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district have achieved a significant breakthrough by apprehending a 31-year-old Pakistani national near the Line of Control (LOC) in the Balakot sector. The individual, identified as Rais Khan, is currently being interrogated by security agencies to determine the purpose of his infiltration.
According to official sources, Rais Khan is the son of Mohammad Yaqub Khan from the Taroti village in the Tetrinot tehsil of the Haveli district in Pakistan-administered Kashmir. He crossed the LOC into Indian territory, where he was swiftly captured by security personnel.
Investigations are underway to ascertain whether he was alone or accompanied by others. Authorities are also probing the route he took for the infiltration and whether he had any specific intentions. Further actions will be based on the information gathered during the interrogation.
This incident marks the third case this month in Poonch district involving individuals crossing the LOC from Pakistan-administered Kashmir. Two other Pakistani nationals were apprehended in separate incidents, and investigations into those cases are ongoing.
