Udaipur: Nissan Motor India has announced the Phase 2 expansion of its CNG retrofitment kit for the New Nissan Magnite, the brand’s popular compact SUV. With this rollout, the eco-friendly CNG variant will now be available at authorised Nissan dealerships in Rajasthan, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Tamil Nadu.

In the initial phase, the CNG retrofitment kit was launched across seven states—Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala, and Karnataka. With Phase 2 now live, the CNG-compatible Magnite is available in 13 states across India, with Phase 3 already in the pipeline.
The expansion is in response to increasing customer demand for cost-effective and environmentally friendly mobility solutions. Developed and supplied by Motozen, a government-certified third-party vendor, the CNG kit is manufactured and quality-assured to meet stringent safety and regulatory standards. Installation will be carried out at government-authorised fitment centers using a homologated kit. Motozen offers a 3-year/1 lakh km warranty on all kit components.
Priced competitively at ₹74,999, the retrofitment kit is compatible with the New Nissan Magnite’s 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with a manual transmission. Despite the additional equipment, the SUV retains its spacious 336-litre boot, one of the largest in its segment.
Following the Phase 1 rollout, customer feedback and third-party tests have shown improved fuel efficiency compared to the standard petrol version.
Commenting on the expansion, Mr. Saurabh Vatsa, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India, said:
“The New Nissan Magnite continues to be a strong pillar of growth for us in India. With the Phase 2 rollout of our CNG retrofitment option, we’re responding to the increasing demand for sustainable mobility while maintaining the core strengths of the Magnite. Our government-certified kits, authorised fitment process, and widespread dealer network further reinforce our commitment to offering accessible and reliable green solutions.”
With over 20 segment-leading features and 55+ safety enhancements, the New Magnite combines bold styling with advanced functionality. The SUV’s premium appeal and growing international presence—now spanning over 65 countries across both Right-Hand Drive and Left-Hand Drive markets—solidify its position as a compelling choice in the compact SUV category.
