Jaipur : A book titled ‘Meghna’: The River of Victory, written by Major Chandrakant Singh (Retd) was released by Major General Raju Chauhan, VSM on behalf of the Army Commander Sapta Shakti Command at Jaipur Literature Festival at Hotel Amer Palace, Jaipur on 14 March 2022.
The book is a detailed account of planning, co-ord & execution of operations launched by 4 GUARDS during 1971 war in the Eastern Sector. It highlights the significance of the River Meghna and the operation undertaken across the river which gave fillip to the fall of Dacca & liberation of Bangladesh in 1971.
At the first edition, the book accounts were discussed with the author by esteemed panelists Lt Gen SS Mehta (Retd) & Wing Commander Krishnamutri amidst an enthusiastic audience.
