Maruti Suzuki Launches eVITARA at ₹10.99 Lakh in India

Mumbai, February 17: Maruti Suzuki has made waves in the Indian electric vehicle market by launching its electric SUV, the eVITARA, at an introductory price of just ₹10.99 lakh (ex-showroom). However, this price comes with a catch: buyers will need to pay a battery rental fee of ₹3.99 per kilometer under the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model.

The eagerly awaited pricing announcement for the eVITARA has finally arrived, revealing the base model’s ex-showroom price. The company is expected to disclose prices for other variants equipped with the battery in the coming days, followed by the commencement of deliveries. The eVITARA will compete with popular electric SUVs such as the MG Windsor EV, VinFast VF6, Hyundai Creta, Tata Curvv, and Mahindra BE6.

Maruti Suzuki is offering several advantages with the eVITARA, which will be sold through Nexa dealerships. Customers can benefit from a 60% assured buyback after three years, along with an 8-year warranty on the battery. Additionally, buyers will receive a home charger valued at ₹50,000, which will be installed at no extra cost. Notably, the eVITARA also comes with one year of complimentary charging.

In terms of features, the eVITARA boasts a boxy design, sporty bumpers, LED lights, and an 18-inch alloy wheel. Inside, it offers premium interiors, adjustable driver seats, ventilated front seats, an electric sunroof, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, Suzuki Connect, seven airbags, a 360-degree camera, and Level 2 ADAS. The SUV will be available with battery pack options of 48.8 kWh and 61.1 kWh, providing a single-charge range of up to 543 kilometers.
