Udaipur, February 17: The Rockwood Blazing Striker Cricket Cup Trophy was unveiled on Monday evening at the Shikharwadi ground, under the auspices of D-Code and the District Cricket Association. The chief guest, His Excellency Gulabchand Kataria, the Governor of Punjab, graced the event.
The program commenced with the organizing secretary Vivek Ghai and Sunil Laddha presenting a bouquet to welcome the Governor. District Cricket Association officials Harsh Jain, Mukesh Kumawat, Rajneesh Sharma, and Ranji player Mustan Amar also welcomed the guests.
In his address, the Governor encouraged the players to embrace the spirit of the game and congratulated the organizers for hosting a commendable tournament. Notable attendees included Rockwood Director Deepak Sharma and industrialist U.B. Srivastava. The Deputy President of the District Association, Manoj Bhatnagar, Secretary Manoj Chaudhary, and Treasurer Mahendra Sharma presented mementos to the guests. Former players Kishan Chaudhary, Tariq Khan, and Arif Mohammad were also present at the ceremony.
Organizing secretary Vivek Ghai announced that the tournament will take place from February 21 to 28 at the Shikharwadi ground in a T-20 format. The matches will be played in a day/night format. The tournament will feature international, IPL, and state-level players, with eight teams participating. Each team will comprise three IPL players and five Ranji Trophy players. Players will be provided with colorful kits, and the winning team will receive a cash prize of ₹10,00,000 (ten lakh), while the runner-up will be awarded ₹5,00,000 (five lakh).
