Jio Introduces New Feature to Manage Call Forwarding via MyJio App

Mumbai, February 17: Reliance Jio has launched a new feature in its MyJio app aimed at enhancing user privacy. This feature allows users to manage their voice and video call forwarding settings directly through the app, eliminating the need to navigate through the phone’s default settings. It helps users monitor if their calls are being forwarded without their knowledge.

Call forwarding can be misused, allowing unknown individuals to listen in on calls by forwarding them to another number. To combat this, Jio has quietly introduced this feature in the MyJio app, enabling users to manage their call forwarding settings easily. Previously, telecom operators like Airtel, BSNL, and Vi (Vodafone Idea) provided options to disable call forwarding only through the phone’s default settings. Now, Jio is leading the way by allowing users to manage these settings directly within the app.

Manage Call Forwarding through the App

Call forwarding can be easily misused, allowing anyone to redirect incoming calls to their own mobile number. With the new update in the MyJio app, users can change their voice and video call forwarding settings without accessing the smartphone’s settings menu. However, there is a requirement for users to have mobile data turned on to use this feature. It is important to note that Wi-Fi will not suffice; mobile data must be enabled.

How to Use the Feature?

  • Open the MyJio app on your phone.
  • Tap on the profile icon located at the top right corner.
  • Select the Mobile Settings option.
  • Navigate to Service Settings and click on Call Forwarding.
  • Choose between Voice and Video options based on your preference.
  • Users will see various call forwarding options, including Always Forward, When Busy, When Unreachable, and When Unanswered. They can select any option as per their convenience and check if call forwarding is enabled on their number.
