Chhindwara, May 29 (Udaipur Kiran) : A man in Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh, killed eight members of his family and then hanged himself. The incident took place in Bodal Kachhar village in Tamia tehsil of the district. The reason for the murder of the family members is not yet clear. The police are investigating the case.
Dinesh, also known as Bhura, lived with his family in Bodal Kachhar village in Tamia tehsil. Late Tuesday night at 2.30 am, the accused Dinesh first axed his wife to death and then killed his mother, sister, brother, sister-in-law, and two nieces and nephews. Dinesh then went to his uncle’s house and attacked a 10-year-old boy, when his grandmother raised an alarm. Dinesh then fled the scene. The villagers then informed the police. The police were informed about the incident at 3 am. Police from nearby police stations reached the spot. The bodies were lying in the house. The police recovered the bodies of the wife (23), mother (55), brother (35), sister-in-law (30), sister (16), nephew (5), and two nieces (4 and 1.5 years old) and sent them for postmortem. There is fear among the villagers since the incident.
Later, the accused’s body was found hanging from a tree on the bank of a drain 150 meters from the village. The injured child was taken to Chhindwara for treatment.
SP Manish Khatri said that the accused Dinesh had got married on May 21 only. It is being told that Dinesh’s mental condition was not right. In the past, he had also undergone treatment in Hoshangabad (Narmadapuram). Police force has been deployed in the village after the incident. The SP said that eight bodies were found in the house and during the search in the forest, the accused’s body was found hanging from a tree. The SP said that the incident is being investigated in detail.
The forensic team has also inspected the scene of the crime. It is yet to be clear why Dinesh committed suicide after killing his family members.
