Jaipur, May 2 – The Akhil Bharatiya Sahitya Parishad held its latest Sahityik Samvad initiative at the SAMSA Auditorium in the Shiksha Sankul campus, Jaipur. The event featured the release of two books — Mahasangram Tak Yatra and Kautuk Tana — followed by a literary discussion.

Manoj Kumar Advocates Literature for Human Welfare
Manoj Kumar, National Co-Organizing Secretary of the Akhil Bharatiya Sahitya Parishad, served as the keynote speaker. He emphasized that literary creation should aim to uplift humanity rather than fulfill personal motives. “Literature must be guided by a sense of social responsibility and serve as a tool for consciousness,” he said.
Kumar noted that the Sahitya Parishad is currently active in over 600 districts across India, working to cultivate literary awareness. He also praised Kautuk Tana by satirical illustrator Dharmendra Kumar ‘Dhaku’ for reviving the unique art form of visual satire. Poet Yajvendra Yadav’s Mahasangram Tak Yatra was described by Kumar as a concise literary representation of the epic Mahabharata.
“Gita Is a Book of Humanity, Not Just Religion”
In his address, Kumar highlighted the philosophical depth of the Mahabharata, describing it as a reflection of human tendencies, conflict, and coordination. He asserted that the epic conveys timeless lessons on unity, disintegration, and continuous renewal.
He further emphasized that the Bhagavad Gita, often seen solely as a religious text, is in essence a scripture for humanity. “It is not just a spiritual guide but a manual for life and moral values,” Kumar stated, urging the audience to draw wisdom from its teachings for personal and societal growth.
Books and Authors in Focus
Dharmendra Kumar ‘Dhaku’: His book Kautuk Tana uses satirical illustrations to reflect socio-political commentary. Kumar praised his ability to infuse humor with critical thought through visual art.
Yajvendra Yadav: The poet’s Mahasangram Tak Yatra is a creative retelling inspired by the Mahabharata, reflecting on current socio-cultural challenges and moral dilemmas.
The event concluded with an engaging discussion on the evolving role of literature in a rapidly changing society, reaffirming its potential to guide, critique, and inspire.
