India Set to Lead the World in Culture, Fashion, and Spirituality: Nita Ambani
Mumbai, May 2, 2025 — In a powerful statement of cultural resurgence, Nita Mukesh Ambani, Chairperson of JioStar and Founder of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC), asserted that India is poised to influence global narratives across content, fashion, spirituality, and the arts. Speaking at the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025, held at the Jio World Convention Centre, Ambani emphasized India’s growing role in shaping global aesthetic and cultural landscapes.

Indian Culture Goes Global with ‘Grand Indian Weekend’ in New York
During her keynote address titled “Taking Indian Culture to the World”, Nita Ambani announced that NMACC will host a grand cultural event called the ‘Grand Indian Weekend’ at the prestigious Lincoln Center in New York this September. This global celebration will spotlight India’s rich artistic traditions, including craftsmanship, classical and contemporary dance, fashion, culinary arts, music, and spirituality.
“India’s soul will be on display,” Ambani said, as she outlined the event’s mission to showcase India’s artisans, weavers, dancers, chefs, and storytellers on one of the world’s most respected cultural stages.
Celebrating Indian Icons on the Global Stage
Nita Ambani also paid tribute to Indians excelling globally while staying rooted in tradition. She highlighted Anoushka Shankar and Rishab Sharma in music, Vikas Khanna in culinary arts, and Priyanka Chopra in cinema as powerful symbols of India’s growing cultural footprint.
“These individuals are spreading the spirit of India across the globe,” she remarked, underlining their role in blending tradition with modernity.
Acknowledging National Leadership and Global Vision
Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Ambani credited his visionary leadership for reviving and amplifying India’s voice on the world stage.
“From yoga to digital inclusion, from cultural diplomacy to G20 and WAVES, India’s spirit is more inspiring than ever before,” she noted, adding that India’s intellect, strength, and beauty have long fascinated the world, and are now once again commanding global attention.
India’s Cultural Renaissance Takes Center Stage
With WAVES 2025 serving as a dynamic convergence of the media, entertainment, and cultural sectors, Nita Ambani’s remarks set the tone for India’s soft power expansion. As the country embraces a new era of cultural diplomacy, initiatives like the Grand Indian Weekend serve as a clarion call for Indian arts to influence, inspire, and integrate with global narratives.
