Jaipur, February 10, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran): Acting on the directions of the ACB headquarters, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Kota (Intelligence) Unit on Tuesday arrested Jitaram, a constable posted at Gumanpura Police Station in Kota district, while allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹3,000.

According to the ACB, a complaint was lodged on February 9, 2026, stating that the complainant had earlier worked in recovery for HDFC Bank, which he has since discontinued. It was alleged that the accused constable visited a shop in Vishal Market, where the complainant was present, and demanded ₹8,000 in return for not implicating him in a false case or taking any action against him. The complaint further stated that ₹5,000 was forcibly taken on February 7, 2026, and the remaining ₹3,000 was being demanded.
The demand was verified on February 9, 2026, during which the accused allegedly reiterated the demand for ₹3,000. Following this, a trap was laid on February 10, 2026, under the supervision of ACB Kota Range Deputy Inspector General Anand Sharma and led by Additional Superintendent of Police Vijay Swarnkar. During the trap operation, conducted by Police Inspector Chandra Kanwar and her team, the accused was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe amount.
Under the supervision of ACB Director General Satyendra Kumar, further interrogation and legal proceedings are underway. A case will be registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, and further investigation will be carried out.
