Jaipur, March 12, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran): The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday arrested a patwari and a village guard in Jaipur Rural while allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹30,000 from a complainant.
The arrested accused have been identified as Ashok Kumar Sharma, Gram Pratihari of Gram Panchayat Mansar Khedi, Tehsil Bassi, and Vikam Bunkar, Patwari of Patwar Halka Jhar with additional charge of Mansar Khandi in Bassi tehsil of Jaipur Rural district.
According to ACB Director General of Police Govind Gupta, the complainant had lodged a complaint stating that he had submitted an application to the patwari seeking division of his agricultural land among co-sharers with mutual consent. However, the patwari allegedly demanded a bribe to process the work and was repeatedly pressuring him for payment.
Acting on the complaint, the ACB Jaipur Rural unit conducted a trap operation under the supervision of Deputy Inspector General of Police Anil Kayal. The operation was led by Additional Superintendent of Police Sunil Sihag.
During the operation, the ACB team caught both accused red-handed while accepting the bribe amount of ₹30,000 from the complainant.
Officials said further interrogation and legal proceedings are being carried out under the supervision of Additional Director General of Police Smita Srivastava. The ACB has registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act and further investigation is underway.
