Udaipur, August 14 (Udaipur Kiran) – A judicial officer from Tonk, along with his wife and other family members, was allegedly assaulted by security guards at the Eklingji Temple. The officer’s wife was also reportedly harassed during the incident. The incident occurred when the officer, who was standing in line without any VIP privileges, objected to the guards’ behavior.
According to reports, the judicial officer, accompanied by his wife, children, brother-in-law, and father, visited the temple for darshan and jalabhishek. The officer chose to stand in line like an ordinary citizen, waiting for his turn. While in line, a security guard referred to the people in line as “sheep and goats” and asked them to move faster. The officer objected to this language and requested the guard to speak respectfully. This led to an altercation, during which several guards, including a female guard, allegedly assaulted the officer and broke his glasses.
When the officer’s elderly relative tried to intervene, he was also attacked and suffered an injury to his elbow, causing significant bleeding. The officer’s brother-in-law was reportedly strangled, leaving visible marks on his neck. When the officer’s wife protested, male guards allegedly assaulted and harassed her, even attempting to carry her away. Other visitors intervened, and the guards released her.
Following the incident, the judicial officer and his family went to the Sukher police station to file a report. However, they were made to wait for two hours without a medical examination being conducted or an FIR being registered. The officer also faced pressure to settle the matter, with calls reportedly coming from various sources, including a call from Lakshyaraj Singh urging them to drop the case. Despite this, the officer insisted on filing a report on behalf of his wife.
Meanwhile, the security guards also lodged a complaint against the judicial officer and his family, accusing them of causing a disturbance and engaging in violence at the temple.
