Udaipur, February 18, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran) – Income Tax officials conducted search operations at a luxury hotel and a restaurant in Udaipur on Wednesday following a complaint of alleged tax evasion.

Teams reached both locations around 7 am and began simultaneous search proceedings. The raids were carried out at Sun and Moon Restaurant located at Gangaur Ghat on Lake Pichola and at Sierra Hotel situated at Haridas Ji Ki Magri.
Official vehicles were stationed outside the premises while officials carried out detailed verification inside. The teams are examining bank account details, important documents and other financial records at both locations.
According to reports, the Sierra Hotel and the restaurant are owned by the same proprietor. Sierra Hotel has 29 rooms, while the restaurant is located at a prominent tourist spot that attracts domestic and international visitors.
Sources said the Income Tax Department received a complaint regarding tax evasion, following which teams were constituted and action was initiated. The exact details of any seizure or documents taken into custody will be known only after the operation concludes.
