Dungarpur, February 18, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran) : Two bodies were found hanging in a government school in Dungarpur district on Wednesday morning, triggering panic among local residents. Police suspect that the young man and young woman may have died by suicide due to a suspected love affair.

The incident took place at Gengee Senior Secondary School under the Chaurasi police station area. Villagers informed the police around 8 am after noticing the bodies.
According to police officials, the bodies were found hanging from iron rods protruding from the roof of a newly constructed building near a classroom.
The deceased young man has been identified as Manoj (22), son of Suresh Kharadi, a resident of Pakron village. The identity of the young woman has not yet been established, police said.
Officials stated that Manoj was married and worked as a labourer. He had reportedly left home on February 1 after a dispute with his wife over a love affair. His wife filed a missing person report at Chaurasi police station on February 17.
After news of the incident spread, a large number of villagers gathered at the school premises.
Head Constable Hazarilal Gurjar of Chaurasi police station said police received information on Wednesday morning that a young man and a young woman were hanging from iron rods on the roof of the under-construction school building. Further investigation is underway.
