Udaipur, May 2 (Udaipur Kiran): Acting on the directions of Excise Commissioner Namit Mehta, a special enforcement drive against illegal liquor is being carried out across Rajasthan with intensified naka bandi, patrolling, and raids.

Under the campaign, strict action is being taken to curb the manufacture, storage, transportation, and sale of illicit liquor. In several districts including Ajmer, Dausa, Jodhpur, Dholpur, Deeg, Nagaur, and Sirohi, large quantities of illegal liquor were seized, and thousands of litres of wash were destroyed. Cases have been registered as per rules.
Officials said a zero-tolerance approach is being followed under the drive, targeting interstate liquor smuggling and illegal trade. In Ajmer, a raid in the sensitive Sansi settlement area of Bhagwangunj led to the seizure of an operational distillation unit along with equipment, and 500 litres of fermented wash were destroyed. Two old distillation setups were also dismantled, and a case was registered.
In Deeg district, raids in sensitive areas including Gopalgarh, Satwadi, Sikri, Edward Manpur, Beru, and Atbi resulted in the destruction of 2,600 litres of wash and three distillation units. Ten litres of illicit liquor were also seized.
In Dausa, action in the Mahwa area led to the seizure of 288 quarter bottles of locally made liquor packed in six cartons. In Jodhpur’s Sardarpura excise police station area, three cases were registered during raids, while intensive search and patrolling continue.
In Dholpur, one accused was arrested during enforcement action and a case was registered. Similarly, in Nagaur districts including Parbatsar, Nawa, Didwana, and Nagaur areas, 700 litres of wash were destroyed and 20 litres of illicit liquor seized, with five cases registered.
In Sirohi’s Abu Road area, 150 litres of wash were destroyed, and four litres of illicit liquor along with distillation equipment and six bottles of RML were seized. In Jaipur Rural’s Chaksu circle, excise teams destroyed 5,000 litres of wash and 10 distillation units, while recovering 150 litres of illegal liquor.
In Sri Ganganagar rural and Anupgarh areas, 1,000 litres of wash and two distillation units were destroyed, with four cases registered. In Bhilwara’s Mandalgarh and Shahpura, 136 litres of illicit liquor being transported on a motorcycle were seized.
Across the state, enforcement teams continue naka bandi, raids, and intensive patrolling under the campaign. On May 1 alone, 92 cases were registered, 22,280 litres of wash destroyed, and three two-wheelers seized. A total of 18 persons were arrested during the action.
All additional excise commissioners, deputy commissioners, district excise officers, inspectors, and enforcement teams are actively engaged in the drive, ensuring strict action against illegal liquor under a zero-tolerance policy.
