Jammu, April 5 – Indian Border Security Force (BSF) personnel neutralized a suspected Pakistani infiltrator at the international border in Jammu district during a midnight operation between April 4 and 5. The incident occurred in the RS Pura sector, specifically near the Abdullian border post, a BSF spokesperson confirmed on Friday.

Alert BSF Troops Foil Infiltration Attempt
According to the BSF, vigilant troops detected suspicious movement near the border fence during the night hours. Upon closer monitoring, they identified an individual attempting to cross the International Border (IB) from the Pakistani side.
Despite being challenged by the BSF troops, the intruder continued advancing without heeding warnings, prompting the personnel to engage and eliminate the threat.
Strong Protest Lodged with Pakistani Counterparts
The BSF stated that a strong protest has been lodged with the Pakistani Rangers regarding the breach of the border and infiltration attempt. The presence of such intruders is often interpreted as a deliberate attempt to exploit porous sections of the border for unlawful activities, including terrorism and smuggling.
Postmortem and Legal Formalities Underway
Following standard protocol, the BSF immediately informed the local police, who took custody of the deceased for postmortem and other legal procedures. Officials are working to establish the identity of the intruder and determine the motive behind the infiltration attempt.
Security has been heightened along the border, and patrols have been intensified to prevent any further cross-border attempts.
