Pakistan Reacts Strongly to Rajnath Singhs Warning
Pakistans military responds to Indias Defence Minister Rajnath Singhs warning about terrorism, indicating heightened tensions between the two nations.
New Delhi, October 17 (Udaipur Kiran) : India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s recent warning regarding a more aggressive response to any new incidents of cross-border terrorism has provoked a strong reaction from Pakistan. A top military commander from Pakistan responded with threats, suggesting that any miscalculation would lead to consequences beyond imagination.
This statement comes amid escalating tensions between the two countries, following Singh’s remarks. According to a report from the prominent Pakistani media outlet Dawn, Lieutenant General Aamer Raza, commander of Pakistan’s National Strategic Command, made these comments during a passing-out parade at a military academy. He emphasized that in a nuclear-armed region, there is no room for war, asserting that Pakistan’s armed forces are fully prepared to defend the nation’s borders.
Raza warned that any misjudgment would have repercussions that would exceed expectations. He also referenced purported hostile intentions and propaganda against Pakistan.
His comments followed Singh’s statement on October 15, where the Defence Minister indicated that any new act of terrorism from across the border would be met with an even stronger response than before. Singh clarified India’s position on terrorism, conveying a message of readiness to confront any new challenges.
In a separate report by Geo News, Raza mentioned the ongoing propaganda against Pakistan without naming India, alleging that adversaries are attempting to create discord between the public and armed forces through narrative warfare. He indicated that there are efforts to destabilize Pakistan through indirect activities following Operation Sindoor.
While Raza underscored the importance of national unity and defense preparedness, he did not announce any specific military actions in response to Singh’s warning. The day before, Pakistan’s Foreign Office had also condemned Singh’s remarks as provocative and reflective of a “dominant mindset.”
Singh had previously noted that operations like Balakot airstrikes and surgical strikes signify a shift in India’s strategy against terrorism, emphasizing that while India seeks peace, it should not be mistaken for weakness.
