IEX Shares Edge Up After 18% Growth in November Power Trade

Mumbai, December 4 (Udaipur Kiran): Shares of Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) were trading marginally higher on the BSE on Wednesday after the company reported a strong year-on-year growth in electricity traded volume for November 2025. The stock was trading at Rs. 149.20, up by Rs. 0.35 or 0.24 per cent from its previous close of Rs. 148.85.

The scrip opened at Rs. 150.55 and moved between an intra-day high of Rs. 151.75 and a low of Rs. 148.45. A total of 3,14,713 shares were traded on the counter during the session.

The BSE Group ‘A’ stock with a face value of Rs. 1 has touched a 52-week high of Rs. 215.40 on June 9, 2025, and a 52-week low of Rs. 130.35 on August 7, 2025. Over the last one week, the stock has moved between Rs. 151.75 and Rs. 137.80. The company’s current market capitalisation stands at Rs. 13,299.60 crore.

Institutional investors hold 49.62 per cent stake in the company, while non-institutional investors hold 50.38 per cent.

Indian Energy Exchange reported a monthly electricity traded volume, excluding TRAS, of 11,409 million units (MU) in November 2025, marking a 17.7 per cent year-on-year growth. During the month, a total of 4.74 lakh Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) were also traded.

The Day-Ahead Market (DAM) recorded a traded volume of 5,668 MU in November 2025 compared to 5,651 MU in November 2024, showing a marginal growth of 0.3 per cent. The Real-Time Electricity Market (RTM) registered a sharp increase of 40.2 per cent year-on-year, with volumes rising to 4,233 MU from 3,019 MU. The Day Ahead Contingency and Term-Ahead Market (TAM) segment recorded 693 MU in November 2025 against 202 MU in the same month last year, reflecting a growth of 243.1 per cent.

The IEX Green Market, which includes Green Day-Ahead and Green Term-Ahead segments, achieved a volume of 815 MU in November 2025 compared to 818 MU in November 2024, showing a marginal decline of 0.3 per cent. The weighted average price in the Green Day-Ahead Market for November 2025 stood at Rs. 3.29 per unit. The 4.74 lakh RECs traded during sessions held on November 12 and November 26, 2025, at clearing prices of Rs. 370 per REC and Rs. 364 per REC respectively. The REC traded volume declined by 13.1 per cent on a year-on-year basis.
