Heavy to Very Heavy Rainfall Alert for 12 Bihar Districts in Next 24 Hours

Patna, July 31 – Due to the continued influence of the monsoon, rainfall activity remains active across Bihar. According to the Meteorological Centre in Patna, a heavy rainfall alert has been issued for 12 districts, while three districts have been placed under very heavy rainfall warning for the next 24 hours.

Heavy Rainfall Forecast

The monsoon is expected to remain active across the state for the next four to five days. In the coming 24 hours, thunder, lightning, and strong winds are likely in Patna, Begusarai, Nalanda, Sheikhpura, Jehanabad, Gaya, Buxar, Nawada, Rohtas, Bhabhua, Bhojpur, and Aurangabad.

As per the weather department, winds are expected to blow at a speed of 30–40 km per hour. Thunderstorms and rain are forecasted for around 12 districts. Gaya, Rohtas, and Aurangabad are under a special alert for very heavy rainfall. The Patna Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for the entire state on August 2, warning of rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds at speeds of 30–40 km per hour. Patna and some nearby districts are likely to receive heavy rainfall.

Rainfall and Temperature Report from Last 24 Hours

In the past 24 hours, the highest rainfall was recorded in RafiGanj, Aurangabad, at 70.4 mm. Patna received 30.8 mm of rainfall. The maximum temperature in Patna was recorded at 32.1°C, while Valmikinagar registered the highest temperature at 35.0°C.

Rainfall reported from other areas includes 52 mm in Hajipur (Vaishali), 49 mm in Siwan, 49 mm in Kauakol (Nawada), 44.6 mm in Brahmpur (Buxar), and 44.2 mm in Warsaliganj (Nawada). Silao in Nalanda recorded 40.4 mm, Roh in Nawada 38.2 mm, Sampatchak in Patna 36.8 mm, and Bidupur in Vaishali 36.2 mm.
