Ranchi, June 29 — The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall in most districts of Jharkhand till July 2. The weather department has also warned of gusty winds ranging between 30 to 40 kmph accompanying the downpour over the next few days.
Rainfall Predictions District-Wise
According to the IMD forecast, the rainfall pattern will intensify across various parts of the state as follows:
June 29–30:
Very heavy rainfall is expected in southeastern, central, and northern adjoining districts of Jharkhand.
Western and northern-central regions may also receive heavy rainfall.
Wind speeds could reach up to 40 kmph.July 1:
Northwestern districts and adjacent southern areas are likely to experience very heavy rainfall, while south-central and north-central districts may see heavy showers.
Wind speeds are expected to stay in the 30–40 kmph range.July 2:
Western and central parts of the state are likely to witness heavy rainfall, again accompanied by winds blowing at 30–40 kmph.
Rainfall Recorded in the Last 24 Hours
In the last 24 hours, the highest rainfall was recorded at Tenughat in Bokaro, which received 77 mm of rainfall. Meanwhile, Ranchi received 2 mm of rainfall.
On Sunday, consistent showers were observed across Ranchi and its surrounding regions.
