In a complaint to the SP, the woman said that on November 27, 2022, her sister went missing from home. A missing person’s report was filed at Hiran Magri police station. Head Constable Dinesh Patel was investigating the case. He took her mobile number on the pretext of the investigation and started calling and messaging her. Then, on the pretext of finding her sister, he took her to different places. Meanwhile, he married her in Arya Samaj, Jodhpur last year, claiming to be divorced. He got a marriage certificate made in court. After that, he raped her. The woman became four months pregnant. He is also accused of assaulting her and snatching her gold and silver jewellery and cash.
It may be noted that Dinesh Patel is on duty outside the house of Kanhaiyalal Tailor, who was killed by slitting his throat in a terrorist incident, in Sector-14.
