Google Pixel users in Europe can now measure their body temperature. This feature works with the Pixel Thermometer app and the temperature sensor that Google introduced with the Pixel 8 Pro last year. This sensor is also available in the new Pixel 9 Pro series. Originally its function was limited to measuring the temperature of objects, but earlier this year the tech giant expanded its use in the US to enable the measurement of body temperature.
An extension of the Google Pixel Thermometer app
Google has updated its Fitbit body temperature support page to include countries in addition to the US. This complements the object temperature measurement feature already included in the Pixel Thermometer app. According to 9to5Google, the app’s interface has also been updated and now includes an option that says “Measure your temperature or that of others.” Users can also connect their Fitbit to the app to record body temperature.
We are currently referring to the following countries:
Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Kingdom of the Netherlands, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United States of Great Britain and the Kingdom of Northern Ireland and the United States.
To set up the temperature measurement feature, you need to tap the “Tap to measure floating” option and follow the voice instructions to complete the 4-second setup process. Next, you need to hold your supported Pixel smartphone close to your forehead and move it to your left and right temples. Users can also select the age range from the following options: 0-3 months, 3-36 months, and 3+ years. Alternatively, you can not select this item. This speeds up the process a bit. The results are displayed on the screen.
Users can save their temperature readings to the Recent Results tab* of the Pixel Thermometer app.
