Flights resume at Srinagar International Airport

Srinagar : Flight operations at Srinagar Airport has resumed after remaining affected for past several days due to snowfall and poor visibility, officials said on Sunday.

“Since January 4, we have had 134 flight cancellations. The passengers of all those flights are being accommodated now. The new bookings will open after clearing the backlog”, a Srinagar Airport tweet said.

Earlier, airport authorities had cleared a thin layer of ice on the runway to prevent aircraft from skidding.

Most of the flights on Srinagar Airport were either cancelled or delayed due to snowfall and poor visibility during the past several days causing inconvenience to hundreds of passengers.

The passengers of the cancelled flights had been assured flights in the next available days by concerned airlines without extra charges for rescheduling. However, some passengers have opted for full refund.
