Fake Land Sale Racket: Mastermind Arjun Singh Arrested by Badgaon Police

Udaipur: Badgaon Police have arrested the main conspirator in a fake land sale case, in which money was allegedly siphoned off by preparing forged sale documents using a fake landowner’s identity.

According to police, the case was registered on April 22, 2025, after complainant Smt. Badamibai, wife of Motilal Suthar and a resident of Rakampura Bedwas under Pratapnagar police station in Udaipur district, reported that her 10 bigha khatedari land located in Rakampura, Bedwas, Udaipur, had been sold fraudulently. She alleged that another woman impersonated her and executed a sale deed of the land in favour of Arjun Singh, son of Bhopal Singh. The forged sale deed reportedly included signatures of witnesses Gajendra and Hamersingh, along with the involvement of other accused.

Based on the complaint, a case was registered and investigation was initiated. Acting under the direction of Udaipur District Superintendent of Police Yogesh Goyal, and under the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Umesh Ojha and Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajesh Yadav (West City Circle), a special team was formed. Using intelligence inputs and technical assistance, the police detained Arjun Singh, son of Bhairu Singh, a resident of Dhikli under Pratapnagar police station, on January 7, 2026.

During questioning, the accused allegedly confessed to his role in the offence. He was formally arrested and produced before the court, which sent him to police remand. Police said Arjun Singh is the main conspirator in the case.

So far, a total of 12 accused, including the woman who impersonated Badamibai, have been arrested in the case.
