Jaipur/Udaipur, January 8 (Udaipur Kiran): In a major crackdown under the PCPNDT Act, the Rajasthan Medical and Health Department’s PCPNDT team conducted a successful decoy operation in Udaipur and exposed illegal foetal sex determination being carried out at Amar Ashish Hospital and Test Tube Baby Centre and Dhara Diagnostic Centre. A woman doctor and a woman agent were detained during the operation.

The action was carried out under the guidance of National Health Mission (NHM) Managing Director Dr Amit Yadav and the direction of Additional Superintendent of Police Dr Hemant Jakhad. Important documents were seized from the IVF centre, while further investigation into the role of other persons involved is being conducted by PBI police station officials.
ASP Dr Hemant Jakhad said the PCPNDT team had received credible information that a woman agent was facilitating illegal foetal sex determination by taking pregnant women to ultrasound and IVF centres in Udaipur district. After local surveillance confirmed the inputs, the team planned a decoy operation.
As part of the operation, a decoy pregnant woman was sent to the agent Pooja Sagar, a native of Uttar Pradesh currently residing in Udaipur. The agent allegedly took ₹35,000 and brought the decoy to Amar Ashish Hospital and Test Tube Baby Centre, located near the main post office in Udaipur. After some time, the agent took the pregnant woman to Dhara Diagnostic Centre for examination and later brought her back to the IVF centre.
Following a pre-decided signal from the decoy woman, the PCPNDT team reached the spot and questioned the agent. During inquiry, it was revealed that the centre’s operator, Dr Neena Saxena (60), demanded ₹30,000 as her share and stated that the result would be disclosed only after payment. After receiving the money, the doctor allegedly informed that the foetus was male and claimed it to be healthy.
Based on these findings, the team detained Pooja Sagar, wife of Mohit Sagar, and Dr Neena Saxena, wife of Anant Saxena, a resident of Keshav Nagar, Udaipur, and operator of Amar Ashish Hospital. Considering the seriousness of the offence, further investigation and legal action are underway.
