Jodhpur–Bhopal Express Gets LHB Coaches, More Seats Added

Jodhpur, April 9 (Udaipur Kiran): In a major upgrade for passengers, North Western Railway’s Jodhpur division has decided to introduce modern LHB coaches in the Jodhpur–Bhopal Express. The new arrangement will come into effect from April 14 from Jodhpur and April 15 from Bhopal.

With this change, the total number of coaches in the train has been increased to 19, aimed at providing a safer, more comfortable, and improved travel experience.

Divisional Railway Manager Anurag Tripathi said that the introduction of LHB rake will enhance passenger safety, improve ride quality, and ensure a smoother journey. He added that the increase in coaches will boost seat availability and help reduce waiting lists. The train, already popular among passengers, is expected to become more convenient with these added facilities.

LHB coaches are technologically more advanced than conventional ICF coaches. They come with anti-climbing features and improved braking systems, which prevent coaches from piling over each other in case of accidents, significantly enhancing passenger safety.

These coaches also offer better suspension, resulting in minimal jerks and a smoother ride. Improved interiors, better ventilation, and modern bio-toilet facilities further enhance passenger comfort.

Under the new configuration, the train will have 1 Second AC coach, 2 Third AC Economy coaches, 3 Third AC coaches, and 7 Sleeper coaches. In addition, there will be 4 General coaches, 1 luggage brake van, and 1 guard-cum-generator van, taking the total to 19 coaches. Notably, the earlier 17-coach rake did not include Second AC and Third AC Economy coaches, which have now been introduced for the first time in this train.
