The arrest was made under the ongoing anti-narcotics drive “Operation Trinetra”. Police recovered a Creta car, Rs 1.10 lakh in cash, six mobile phones, and a dongle from his possession.

Superintendent of Police Manish Kumar said a team led by DST in-charge Madanlal Khatik intercepted a suspicious car without a number plate. The driver initially identified himself as Mahipal Singh and produced a fake Aadhaar card. During further questioning and search, another Aadhaar card was found, revealing his true identity as Bhawani Singh Bhati, a resident of Balotra.

He was taken into custody and brought to the police station, where interrogation revealed his criminal background. The accused is involved in several cases under the NDPS Act in districts including Balotra, Hanumangarh, Phalodi and Sri Muktsar Sahib.

Police said Bhawani Singh was the main accused in a case involving seizure of 9,000 intoxicant tablets in Punjab and had been absconding for a long time. A reward of Rs 25,000 was declared on him in Phalodi district and Rs 5,000 in Hanumangarh Junction.

During investigation, it was found that the accused procured large quantities of intoxicant medicines in the name of pharma companies using fake billing without any valid licence. He was allegedly involved in inter-state trafficking and expanding a drug network.

After initial questioning, the accused has been handed over to Phalodi police for further legal action.
