
Udaipur, July 31, 2024. The electrification work of approximately 227 kilometers out of the 297-kilometer broad-gauge line from Udaipur to Ahmedabad has been completed. The work on the 70-kilometer stretch between Bichiwara and Himmatnagar has also commenced.
Today in the Lok Sabha, Udaipur MP Dr. Manna Lal Rawat questioned Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw regarding the electrification of the 297-kilometer broad-gauge line from Udaipur to Ahmedabad via Himmatnagar.
Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw responded to MP Dr. Manna Lal Rawat’s question, stating that out of the 297 kilometers between Udaipur and Ahmedabad, 227 kilometers have been electrified. The work on the 70-kilometer stretch from Bichiwara to Himmatnagar has started. Necessary funds have been provided to complete this project.
The Union Railway Minister further mentioned that in the past five years, from 2019 to 2024, 2,799 kilometers of railway electrification have been completed in Gujarat and 4,070 kilometers in Rajasthan.
