Dr. Mukesh Badjatya Receives Guru Dronacharya Award in Bangalore

Udaipur : Senior nephrologist and professor of nephrology at the American International Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Dr. Mukesh Badjatya, has been honored with the Guru Dronacharya Award by Avatar India (Association of Vascular Interventional Renal Physicians of India). This prestigious award is given in the field of medical education. Dr. Badjatya is the only nephrologist from Rajasthan to receive this award this year.

Dr. Mukesh Badjatya, head of the nephrology department at AIIMS and retired from RNT Medical College, returned on Monday after receiving the award. He was welcomed by Group Director Dr. Anand Jha, Director Dr. Surbhi Porwal, and Dean Dr. Vinay Joshi. Dr. Anand Jha stated that Dr. Badjatya was selected for the Guru Dronacharya Award by Avatar India, which defined the award and clarified the basis for Dr. Badjatya’s selection.

Dr. Badjatya had previously been at RNT Medical College, where, after completing his MD, he pursued a DM in nephrology. Eighteen nephrologists trained under him are now serving across the country. The foundation considered these contributions when selecting Dr. Badjatya from Rajasthan.

Avatar India has historically organized nephrology workshops, but this was the first time the foundation held a conference in Bangalore. During the event, Padma Shri awardee and chairman of Avatar Foundation, Dr. D.S. Rana, co-chairman Dr. Vivekanand Jha, and convener Dr. Sanjeev Jasuja honored Dr. Badjatya with a turban and the award on stage.

Upon Dr. Badjatya’s return to Udaipur, the nephrology department and AIIMS management honored him on Monday.
