Noida, September 24 (Udaipur Kiran) : Noida’s cleanliness efforts received a boost as the Noida Authority conducted a surprise inspection late at night on September 23. This initiative aimed to strengthen waste management and curb the illegal collection of mixed waste in the city. Under the directive of the Chief Executive Officer and General Manager, the operation targeted several key locations across Noida.
During the inspection, five vehicles were found illegally collecting mixed waste and were subsequently seized. The operation was led by Kapil Singh, Senior Manager of Health and Solid Waste Management, along with the authority’s police force. The team assessed the waste collection and transportation practices at various sites, checking compliance with established regulations.
At the DLF Mall in Sector 18, three unauthorized vehicles were discovered collecting mixed waste. The officials acted swiftly to confiscate all three. The team then proceeded to inspect Binge Central in Sector 62, where they found another vehicle engaged in similar illegal activities, which was also seized on the spot. A further inspection at I-Tham in Sector 62 resulted in the confiscation of one more unauthorized vehicle.
In total, the operation resulted in the seizure of five vehicles: three from DLF Mall, one from Binge Central, and one from I-Tham. The Noida Authority emphasized the importance of proper waste segregation for bulk waste generators and adherence to authorized disposal methods. Unauthorized collection of mixed waste will continue to face strict action.
The authority has reiterated its commitment to monitor the segregation of wet and dry waste in the city and ensure that waste is only collected through authorized channels. Establishments violating these regulations will be subject to punitive measures. The Noida Authority has also urged citizens, markets, malls, and businesses to separate waste at the source and utilize only authorized agencies for waste collection. Officials believe that with the cooperation of residents and establishments, the city’s cleanliness can be significantly improved, effectively curbing the illegal collection of mixed waste.
