Udaipur, November 28 (Udaipur Kiran): The district-level Aadhaar Monitoring Committee meeting was held on Friday evening at the DoIT auditorium under the guidance of District Collector Namit Mehta and chaired by Additional District Collector Dipendra Singh Rathore.

Joint Director of the Department of Information Technology and Communication, Pooja Sahu, welcomed the participants and discussed the meeting agenda. The current status of Aadhaar centres operating under various registrars in the district was reviewed during the meeting.
Additional District Collector Rathore laid special emphasis on increasing Aadhaar enrolment for children in the 0 to 5 age group and speeding up the mandatory biometric updation process. It was noted that some private schools were not facilitating biometric updates for children. The ADM directed that special camps be organised at the block or school level for this purpose.
Discussions were also held on regular inspection of Aadhaar centres and on curbing overcharging and other irregularities. The utility of Aadhaar in various government schemes and ensuring benefits to eligible beneficiaries were also reviewed.
The representative of the Community Service Centre requested allocation of space for installation of Aadhaar updation machines at the block level. On this, the ADM directed the Joint Director, DoIT, to ensure necessary action for machine installation at the Panchayat Samiti or any government premises at the block level.
Chief District Education Officer Pratibha Gupta, Assistant Director CDEO Dr Dinesh Bansal, along with representatives from banks, post offices, CSC and the Women and Child Development Department were present at the meeting. At the conclusion, officials were instructed to make Aadhaar services more effective, transparent and smooth.
