New Delhi: Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant found himself on the wrong side of the Indian Premier League rules as he kept a slow pace in a thrilling match against Chennai Super Kings in Visakhapatnam on Sunday.
Although DC won by 20 runs, Pant’s 32-ball 51 and 16-ball unbeaten 37 were matched by CSK’s MS Dhoni.
But Ball’s joy was tempered when the league announced the offensive. The IPL issued a statement confirming that Pant had breached the code of conduct, which resulted in the DC captain being fined Rs 12 lakh. The fine was imposed because it was the first minor offense of the season.
