Collector felicitates disabled team for high polling at ‘Divyang’ booth

Udaipur : Eight differently-able state employees were felicitated for their efficiency and hard work that resulted into high polling percentage at their booth during the assembly election in Udaipur. These men were assigned duties at an exclusive disabled friendly polling booth which registered the highest polling of 78 percentage which was above the district average. Two booths set up at this station were completely handled by the disabled staff who managed the entire work without any assistance from others. According to sources, besides Udaipur, one such unique booth was set up in Nagaur where special arrangements were made for disabled voters including waiting room, ramps and toilets.

Collector BishnuCharan Malick, Udaipur SP Kunwar Rashtradeep and returning officer Sanjay Kumar felicitated these personnel at the collectorate. ” One of the polling member Mohammed Iqbal took his seat at 6 o clock and left the chair only after 8 o clock after winding up all the paper work. Two other members Sanjay Paneri and Chhagan Singh Gehlot drove their two wheelers themselves and reported for duty.

Their dedication and commitment towards their duty is really commendable , we really appreciate the entire team for the spirit they have shown and registered high polling percentage above the district and constituency average” Malick told Udaipur Kiran. ” It was a great learning experience for us too. We are grateful to the authorities who entrusted us with a great responsibility to handle the exclusive booth full fledgedly. Such disabled friendly booth should be set up at every district because it not only extends facilities for the differently abled people but also instills a special feeling of responsibility” Chimanlal one of the team member said.
